In the spotlight - problem of climate change
Climate change is now affecting every country on every continent. It is disrupting national economies and affecting lives, costing people, communities and countries dearly today and even more tomorrow. People are experiencing the signiJicant impacts of climate change, which include changing weather patterns, rising sea level, and more extreme weather events. The greenhouse gas emissions from human activities are driving climate change and continue to rise. They are now at their highest levels in history.
Without action, the world’s average surface temperature is projected to rise over the 21st century and is likely to surpass 3 degrees Celsius this century—with some areas of the world expected to warm even more. The poorest and most vulnerable people are being affected the most.
Affordable, scalable solutions are now available to enable countries to leapfrog to cleaner, more resilient economies. The pace of change is quickening as more people are turning to renewable energy and a range of other measures that will reduce emissions and increase adaptation efforts.
But climate change is a global challenge that does not respect national borders. Emissions anywhere affect people everywhere. It is an issue that requires solutions that need to be coordinated at the international level and it requires international cooperation to help developing countries move toward a low-carbon economy. To address climate change, countries adopted the Paris Agreement.
The main activity of the Academy is the creation of International Trade and thematic headquarters of the Academy, which are designed to promote the joint efforts of governments, business and society in the task of preserving and increasing the resources of our planet, improving people's lives through sustainable development in the economic and social spheres, in the ecology and cooperation.
The Academy work to achieve the goals of sustainable development has been based for years on the work and themes that have always been the focus of the activity of the organization. Among them - the questions and issues of climate change.
Agreement on climate conference in Paris will help to achieve the Goals of sustainable development, in order to end poverty everywhere, to create a more robust economy and build a more secure and healthy society.
At the Climate Summit, at the invite of the UN Secretary-General, global leaders from Government, business, Jinance and civil society came together to announce bold commitments to action in areas that are critical for keeping global temperature increases to less than two degrees Celsius.
The eight Action Areas are: Agriculture, Cities, Energy,Financing, Forests, Industry, Resiliene, Transportation
How The International Informatization Academy
supports action on climate change
In implementing the cooperation program with the UN, the Academy pays special attention to cooperation, not only with non-governmental organizations but with businesses, which are an integral part of civil society and largely determine its condition, and also to the social climate within society in general.
The programs and methods of activity within the business community are of great interest, enabling to consider the diversity of the interests and objectives of sustainable regional development and of civilization in general. Such approaches towards the management of economic activities are intended to receive support from UN agencies and global public opinion. Such topics are as follows:
✦ The environmental component of companies’ and corporations’ business programs, and the introduction of new technologies aimed at environmental preservation.
✦ The experience in executing socially responsible projects and participation in the development of high
standard social services in the regions where businesses and corporations operate.
✦ Attention to resolving tasks regarding support and developing a human capital, creative and resourceful
activity on the part of employees of companies and organizations, and the formation of new capital – the
intellectual one.
✦ Support mechanisms for scientiJic developments and start-ups, venture Jinancing, public information
exchange in terms of innovative activities.
✦ The creation of new ecological materials and energy sources, efJicient and clean technology waste recycling, and reduction of harmful emissions into the atmosphere.
Main activities of the Academy
I. Organization and presentation of the
innovative solutions for government officials in developing countries, business, scientific and environmental organizations
The Academy, using the status of an international public organization, initiates the conversation and the presentation of new solutions for government agencies, cities, companies and consumers.
II. Official accreditation of the project participants in the UN
To submit to the UN the interests of partners, and organizational and information resources of the UN for the presentation of projects and technologies
III. Creating a database of innovative solutions in the climate change on the basis of practical activities and monitoring.
The database and information on the implementation in the different countries of the world (including the UN program).
IV. The preparation of the report to the session of the UN HLPF 2019 and a presentation of practical technological solutions to combat climate change.

Goal 13: Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts
Facts
• From 1880 to 2012, average global temperature increased by 0.85°C. To put this into perspective, for each 1 degree of temperature increase, grain yields decline by about 5 per cent.
• Oceans have warmed, the amounts of snow and ice have diminished and sea level has risen. From 1901
to 2010, the global average sea level rose by 19 cm as
oceans expanded due to warming and ice melted.
• Global emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2) have increased by almost 50 per cent since 1990
• Emissions grew more quickly between 2000 and 2010 than in each of the three previous decades
• It is still possible, using a wide array of technological
measures and changes in behaviour, to limit the increase in global mean temperature to two degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels
Goal 13 targets
• Strengthen resilience and adaptive capacity to climaterelated hazards and natural disasters in all countries
• Integrate climate change measures into national
policies, strategies and planning
• Improve education, awareness-raising and human and institutional capacity on climate change mitigation, adaptation, impact reduction and earlywarning
• Implement the commitment undertaken by developedcountry parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on ClimateChange to a goal of
mobilizing jointly $100 billion annually by 2020 from all sources to address the needs of developing countries in the context of meaningful mitigation actions and transparency on implementation and fully operationalize the Green Climate Fund through its capitalization as soon as possible
• Promote mechanisms for raising capacity for effective
climate change-related planning and management in
least developed countries and small island developing
States, including focusing on women, youth and local and
marginalized communities
