Cooperation with the business community

In implementing the cooperation program with the UN, the Academy pays special attention to cooperation, not only with non-governmental organizations but with businesses, which are an integral part of civil society and largely determine its condition, and also to the social climate within society in general.

The programs and methods of activity within the business community are of great interest, enabling to consider the diversity of the interests and objectives of sustainable regional development and of civilization in general. Such approaches towards the management of economic activities are intended to receive support from UN agencies and global public opinion. Such topics are as follows:

The environmental component of companies’ and corporations’ business programs, and the introduction of new technologies aimed at environmental preservation.

The experience in executing socially responsible projects and participation in the development of high standard social services in the regions where businesses and corporations operate.

Attention to resolving tasks regarding support and developing a human capital, creative and resourceful activity on the part of employees of companies and organizations, and the formation of new capital – the intellectual one.

Support mechanisms for scientific developments and start-ups, venture financing, public information exchange in terms of innovative activities.

The creation of new ecological materials and energy sources, efficient and clean technology waste recycling, and reduction of harmful emissions into the atmosphere.

The practice of companies and corporations mutually cooperating with government agencies and non-governmental organizations to resolve urgent social issues, such as helping people with disabilities (the creation of an accessible environment), support for mothers and children (welfare programs), taking care of the younger generation (youth training programs, student scholarships), and fighting unemployment (opening of new jobs and occupations. retrain staff), and others.

which will be awarded annually to authors and companies who have made a significant contribution to resolve social problems and improve the quality of life.

Goal 17: Revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development

The program is implemented in collaboration with the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), the content of the program meets the objectives of the Development Goals.

The project involves:

• monitoring innovation, identifying and establishing contacts with developers, providing developers and companies platforms to present and promote their achievements;

• communication with governmental and public bodies interested in the implementation of the relevant projects;

• creating mechanisms to attract investors and sponsors, contributing to the sustainable projects;

• identifying new innovation goals based on the analysis of contemporary challenges and threats;

• active engagement with civil society organizations, academics and university centers, experts working in the field of social innovation;

• creating a database of social innovation and development

Taking into account all of the above-listed priorities, in 2018, the International Informatization Academy will launch a program to present innovation developments promoting sustainable development and solutions related to the social problems of civilization.

Different countries have accumulated considerable positive experience with respect to all the challenges outlined above and it is useful and important to share these with the international community, including with the United Nations’ prestigious platforms.

The International Informatization Academy’s general consultative status at the United Nations and the support of its structures by ECOSOC structures has allowed the Academy to attract leaders and representatives of the most reputable organizations and companies in the world and from all sectors of economic activity to these platforms.

This provides the opportunity to establish high-quality communication and for the business community to ensure effective dialogue with civil society on issues that are important for civilization.

Guided by its mission the Academy launched the project «Innovation for Social Development», aiming - to present the international community the most significant, effective and cutting-edge technology and innovation, promoting the development of the social services aimed at improving the quality of life and solving the crucial problems of sustainable development.

Practical recommendations to the United Nations and ECOSOC should be the outcome of the proposed program. Formulated on behalf of the innovation community and supported by leading experts and specialists, these recommendations and specific proposals are intended to develop and promote sustainable development and to make a real contribution to civilization’s preservation and development.
